My Philosophy Around Food

My Philosophy Around Food

I thought I’d use my first blog post to explain why I choose to eat the way I do.

Eating “healthfully” has been a long journey for me. I’ve tried everything to maintain a healthy weight and feel good, from cleanses and high protein diets to low carb plans, counting calories, going vegetarian, then back to eating meat, and then back again. Nothing seemed to work. One theory always contradicted the next. Some doctors said veganism was the only way, while others insisted that high protein diets full of animal meat were the key. Who was I meant to listen to? I was more confused than ever and found myself ping ponging back and forth depending on the latest research or influencer trend.

When I started experiencing chronic symptoms like rosacea, inflammation, anxiety, depression, and even early menopause, I finally had to slow down and listen to what my body was trying to tell me. Clearly everything the experts and influencers were saying was not working. So many of us are still getting sick. I thought I was eating well, yet I was still showing signs of chronic illness and holding on to extra weight. That’s when I began diving into holistic healing and discovered the Medical Medium. Everything he shared immediately clicked with me and resonated on a soul level.

His theory is that many chronic illnesses and mysterious symptoms come from underlying causes that traditional medicine has not yet identified. He explains that viruses, toxins, and a sluggish liver are often behind most health problems, and that food can be used as powerful medicine to help the body heal naturally.

His approach focuses on eating pure, natural, plant based foods that support the liver, immune system, and nervous system. Fruit is one of the most healing foods on the planet because it provides antioxidants and the natural glucose that the brain and body need to function properly. Vegetables and leafy greens help cleanse, hydrate, and mineralize the body, especially those rich in electrolytes such as celery, cucumber, and lettuce.

Celery juice is one of the cornerstones of his healing recommendations. Drinking fresh celery juice on an empty stomach each morning helps flush out toxins, restore stomach acid, and strengthen the gut. He also recommends avoiding what he calls “troublemaker foods” such as dairy, eggs, gluten, soy, corn, canola oil, pork, and processed ingredients, since these can feed viruses and overburden the liver.

More importantly, his message aligned with what I felt deeply in my heart. That I do not want to eat meat. I love animals too much to eat them. Our culture around the meat industry needs to change. Animals are not treated well, and I was so happy to learn that the body can not only survive but truly THRIVE on a 100 percent plant based diet.

Our society has made food feel so complicated, but it really doesn’t need to be. When we come back to simple foods from the earth, foods filled with life force and grown by the sun, everything starts to shift. Nature is abundant, and eating this way has helped me reconnect with myself. For so long, food stressed me out. I wanted eating to feel joyful again. I wanted to love food without overthinking every bite. I love cooking, I love nourishing my body, and I never wanted anxiety to be part of that relationship.

What I love about the Medical Medium way of eating is how simple it truly is. It is whole, unprocessed foods from nature, lots of fruits and vegetables, and a gentle focus on cleansing and nourishment. When you eat this way, your body knows exactly what to do. It lets go of what it does not need and returns to its natural state of balance and vitality.

These days my routine is pretty simple. I make celery juice, I blend fresh fruit smoothies, and I drink a lot of fresh juices. My meals are full of hearty vegetables, potatoes, and fresh herbs. I snack on apples and bananas, and dates are honestly my favorite food on earth. And I am finally feeling vibrant again. My skin is healing, and my anxiety and depression have eased so much.

And yes, I still enjoy my life. I love a glass of wine or a fun cocktail here and there. I still eat out. Sometimes I splurge on gluten or something sweet. I am not perfect, and I do not expect myself to be. You do not need to be perfect either. What matters is consistency and giving your body the chance to feel supported.

If you take anything from my journey, let it be this. Eating does not have to be confusing. It does not have to be stressful. When you return to simple, natural foods, everything becomes easier. Your body, mind, and spirit begin to thrive. And I cannot wait to help guide you toward that same vibrant health.
